Ingredients

  • 1 round sourdough loaf (about 1 1/2 lb)
  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken
  • 1/2 cup buffalo hot sauce
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1/4 cup ranch or blue cheese dressing
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. 1.

Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Using a serrated knife, cut the bread in a 1-inch grid, slicing down to—but not through—the bottom crust.

  2. 2.

Toss chicken with hot sauce. Stir garlic powder into melted butter.

  3. 3.

Set the loaf on a large sheet of foil on a baking sheet. Gently pry open the cuts and stuff with chicken and mozzarella. Brush butter over the top and into the cracks.

  4. 4.

Wrap loosely in foil and bake 15 minutes. Unwrap and bake until the cheese is melted and bubbly, 10 minutes more.

  5. 5.

Drizzle with ranch and sprinkle with green onions. Serve immediately.

Make It Special!

  • Serve with celery sticks and extra dressing on the side.
  • Travel tip: wrap in foil and a towel; it stays warm for about 30 minutes.
  • Make ahead: stuff the loaf a few hours early and refrigerate until baking.
